External USB DVD drive
If someone living in the wellington region has or has access to an external USB DVD drive, can you please let me know. I need to use one for about 20 mins

I have an external hardrive enclosure that you can plug an IDE or SATA drive into. In Wellington if you wanna grab it.

Sounds good, unfortunately i don't have a DVD drive at all. The only one I have is in my laptop and im not so keen to take that out

Can you network the laptop and share the DVD drive and access it from the other computer? Unless you need the drive to boot of a disk

You can do that, but you cant upgrade from XP to Win7.
Also you cant boot from network because it trys to find a DHCP server |

I wonder if you can upgrade to Windows 7 from XP on an external drive from the laptop and then plug that back into your PC?

Upgrade to Vista, and then to 7 ?
