Networking issue
Each time i turn my computer off and then on again (not restarting but actually leaving it off for about 30 seconds and then turning it back on) my network adapter drivers become corrupted.
(This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)) is the message when i view the interface from device manager.
The interface in question is an onboard one on my P5N-EM HDMI mobo.
Reinstalling the drivers from the CD seems to fix the problem until i turn my comp off again though i need to unplug and replug the cable and do the repair thing a couple of times typically.
Also when my computer is off it makes a high pitched whining noise and the light, that usually turns orange when my computer is turned off, stays green as it would if the computer was still turned on.

Windows XP?

What sort of GFX card is installed?

When did this start happening?

Onboard LAN may be failing -- check the BIOS firmware version is the latest

Seems like others have this issue and it doesnt look good:

Are there any blown or buldging capacitors on your mobo? -- try and find out where the sound is coming from

Motherboard under warranty ?

If not, I suppose you could just get a cheap PCI NIC

bios is the latest
most of those issues do sound similar but are definaly not the same as what im getting
as far as i can see there are no blowen capacitors
sound sounds like its coming from the PCI ports or that sort of area but its very hard to tell
mobo is under warenty but im not realy keen to send it back so close to Xlan
tryed using a PCI NIC but im having issues with it aswell, (though the NIC im using is quite old and i dont realy trust it it has worked well in the past

Get a long cardboard roll (like from paper towels), hold it to your ear, and move around until you find out exactly where it is.
