Recently went to the Xlan site to see if there was any news... and the site is down, anyone in the know? will there be an Xlan this year?

Well its March, and I got concerned that the site was still down.

As for xLAN....... Well we dropped the site after a number of continual spam attacks, and it currently sits off protected in the background as an archive for us. I have been testing some add ons to see if they will be usable to take over the xLAN functionality, but the biggest issue is with the LAN Party module side of things. In the meantime, we will very soon have a landing page for the site and it will redirect to the xLAN area of the forums on a discussion side, and this area will increase to represent all the forum aspects that will need discussion. In respect to the event, we have finalised a venue, and the details are now in progress of being sorted for the ticketing, pricing, and general set up. Expect to see this next week with the shopping cart solution so you can get your earlybird tickets ASAP!

New venue and PC only. Sounds interesting. I will be able to make it this year.

hmm pc only eh... hopefully that will mean more seats. Also hopefully they organise the venue better so that the main stage is in the same room as the gaming arena.

Purchased my standard ticket! Apperently there are 2 forms of tickets you can get premium and standard:

Standard - $95:

• 0.8m seating space (single monitor only, no secondary PC's)
• Chair provided
• Internet bandwidth allowance of 500MB

Premium - $165:

• 1.2m seating space (150% more than standard seating, and thus allows multi-monitor and a spacious environment)
• Option to bring your own chair
• Full Gigabit LAN speeds (a first at xLAN!)
• Higher Internet bandwidth allowance (1.5GB instead of 500MB)
• The area will be R18 only
• Alcohol will be served at xLAN 2011, and you'll be allowed it at your desk (alcohol is not allowed in the main arena)!
• Closer access to spectating areas, and a premium only smoking area
• Extra security will be assigned for the premium area to ensure you have confidence when you bring your awesome rig, and mega keyboard!

Would be great if this year all the people with mass Teebs buy premium. I wonder if this means that the premium and standard will be on the same LAN. Also the venue is smaller this year

it is my intention to attend
