I hear, from the Gisborne Telecom exchange guys, that the fibre link from Hawkes Bay has been completed and that ADSL2+ has been enabled for Telecom customers in the CBD and shortly in Whataupoko (Russell street area).
Which is ahead of the scheduled 2010 date

Quote:I hear that my Gisborne house is in that area... and that yours is not I will admit, that when I heard this news my immediate thought was along the lines of 'dammit! that means kenjis house' Also, apparently, if your on a Telecom broadband plan thats full speed (so not the most basic plan) and have an ADSL2+ router, you should be able to sync at ADSL2+ speeds which are up to 24Mbs... This is not confirmed of course. |

Tell me when you see those sorts of speeds Chris, I've moved to Gisborne.net. I'll move back when our area gets good ADSL
