Office 2010 screenshots
Office 2010, the next version of Microsoft's successful office programs suite, has been in closed testing for a while now. With a public beta expected later in the year, development is stepping up before the program, previously dubbed Office 14, is finally let out into the wild.

Here are some images of the new about screen of Office and screenshots of the new version of Outlook, including the ribbon toolbar.

I'm trying hard not to be biased about this but I honestly think this UI looks terrible :\
Does anyone else agree?

Yeah... the heavy use of white looks... boring I think, I also don't like it.

Racist!...

But seriously, I agree that it doesn't look that great. Maybe there's an option to change the colours or something, or perhaps they will modify it before the release.

What I'm more interested in is what new features the applications will have. I'm pleased to see that Outlook has now replaced the menus with the ribbon bar, as is in the other core Office 2007 app.

This cracked me up:

It would seem they didn't take into account the fact that 14 is considered an unlucky number in China (or at least in the southern part where we lived).

... Racist!

Regarding the UI, it was actually not so much the colours, but more the layout that I think looks horrible. But I probably am the only one Tongue

In my opinion 2003 was their best version. They went downhill from there

Nothing, however could be considered as unlucky as a fourth player discarding a west tile!

How so? Office 2007 is great. The equations and the ribbon style UI are necessities when compared to the older versions.

I don't like that ribbon style layout. And it's just plain ol' bloated. Throw compatability pack and the ODF plugin onto 2003 and your aways
