You may have noticed some small changes recently, as we've just completed a small update bringing DW forums to 1.02.

This still remains a test forum that we are using to learn about installing, configuring and administering PHPBB etc.

As always, use this thread to make comments or report any bugs you find.

What's New since 1.0:
- Time Fixed (more time options now available in your profile settings) *New!* (if your time is displaying incorrectly switch to a different style then switch back)
- Several bugfixes
- Last 10 recently viewed topics appear on the front page
- DW Forums v1.02 has been tested in the following major browsers:

What's New in 1.0:
- New domain name: http://www.dwforums.net
- 5 new themes (SubSilver is the no-frills theme that loads the fastest)
- 2 new sub-forums (How To and Beta Discussion)
- Time zones now display countries next to them (Make your time zone is set correctly here)
- We have compiled a list of forum rules to go with v1.0
- Users can now report posts they feel are violating the rules using the ! located in the top right corner of every post
- Forum ranks have been updated (Moderators now have special rank images and users will gain rank images after a certain amount of posts)
- An avatar gallery has been created for those who want an avatar but don?t want or know how to make one. Access the gallery from the avatar configuration section of your profile
- Images can now easily be uploaded by clicking the 'Add image to post' button located under your edit post window
- Some new emoticons have been added and the trigger words have been changed to those used my most other forums (IE :lol: instead of /lol)
- Many threads have been cleaned and/or merged (Thats why your post count may be lower)

Other Changes
- Due to the amount of space we have been allocated we have decided to remove the attachments hack
- DW Forums v1.0 is now works in most major browsers including:

- We have tried our best to ensure that the forums are now free of bugs, however we are only human. Use this thread to report any errors and suggest further upgrades to DW Forums.

Known Issues
- [RESOLVED] Images show up with white backgrounds when they should be transparent. This is because Internet Explorer 6 does not support transparent PNGs. We did all our work and testing with Internet Explorer 7 Beta/Firefox 1.07/Opera 8.60. To resolve this problem download Internet Explorer 7 here

Can you embed a swf in your post? Also, is it possible to link to a swf for your avatar, or could this feature be included later?

Surely theres a good explanation as to why all the avatars are broken... Or is it just me?
I assume this is intentional, as I can no longer link to an external avatar when editing my profile

There really needs to be a link to the last post or at least the last page in a thread from the 'Top 10 Active Posts' section. Sucks having to click the thread, wait for it to load and then click on the last page, and scroll down.

yep i agree JC, we will work on that and also perhaps a redirect to last page after loging in instead of redirecting to index page..

@JC - Progress report -- I'm please to report that I have successfully implemented this feature on our test board. Hopefully soon it will go live.

What exactly do you mean by this?

Do you mean that:

A.
You click on the link in the "Last 10 Active Topics", and it is discovered that you are not currently logged in.
You are then redirected to a login page, and after loggining in, you go to the last post of the link you originally clicked?

or

B.
You are looking at posts on the forums, and you decide to log out and carry on with your life.
The next time you log in to DW Forums, you are taken back to the post that you visited the last time you were there.

Option B sounds like some of the more annoying features you need to disable in Opera. Thats because its not what everyone wants. Some will enjoy it, and to others (inc. me) it will be annoying. It would be a great feature if there was a profile option to disable it
(ie.
When I log on:
O - Go to last visited post.
O - Go to forums index
)

Option A would be pretty great though, because you know that - when someone clicks a link in that way - that they always intended to visit the last post in the thread.
